Oak or ash??
Oak is often called "The king of trees" due to its - among others - longevity.
It grows in Northern Africa, Northern America, Europe and Asia. Oak wood is heavy,
hard and wear-resistant, thus it is especially suitable for floorboards. The standards
for oak are given in the Chapter "Parquet standards".
Ash grows in northern countries, in the Temperate Zone. The ash wood is as heavy
and hard as oak wood, but more decorative due to its coloured annual ring structure.
There are many kinds of ash wood. For simplicity we divide ash parquets into natural,
brown and hell. The standards for oak are given in the Chapter "Parquet standards".
